Sustainability
Sustainability issues are close to our hearts. Here you can take part in our position.
Environmental sustainability
We want to limit our ecological footprints
Environmental sustainability is close to our hearts. This means, for example, that we prioritize locally produced goods, work digitally to limit our paper consumption, choose sustainable travel methods when possible, and have the mindset that ”new for us” does not have to mean newly produced – second hand can often be an alternative.
Sustainable and circular rural development is one of our goals and we work to contribute to just this. For example, we run our own leader projects aimed at stimulating more investments that contribute to biodiversity and promote ecosystems' capacity to provide ecosystem services. In this way, we also take responsibility for environmental sustainability by inspiring others.
Social sustainability
Together is the key
Social sustainability is something we create together – networking is therefore a key ingredient in our work. We notice that when we bring together people who previously had no knowledge of each other or each other's plans, magic often happens. We see that ideas are scaled up, developed, and benefit more.
Through our strategy and support for local initiatives, we create opportunities for projects that contribute to networks, activities, and meeting places – important parts for belonging, cohesion, and community.
Economic sustainability
Long-term benefit
Our strategy enables us to support local associations, organizations, entrepreneurs, and businesses, which play a central role in the development of Sjuhärad. By creating conditions for employment, innovation, and strengthening the area's long-term economic growth, they contribute to a sustainable future.
We work in a tripartite partnership where the public, private, and non-profit sectors collaborate to create stability and contribute to lasting value. For us, economic sustainability means supporting initiatives that not only deliver results in the short term but also create lasting benefits for individuals and society. Therefore, all who seek leader support must, among other things, explain how the results of a project will continue after the project and project budget are finished.
