Seek support for projects

Is it time to formulate an application? Great! We at the leader office are there during the process, both with advice and feedback.

Application step by step

Always start by contacting us at the leader office. The application is made in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system, but we will help you get started and then be your sounding board throughout the entire process. Now let's go!

Good to know

  • Associations, companies and organizations can apply for support for projects. However, private individuals cannot.
  • The size of the support in relation to the budget, and the type of co-financing depend on, among other things, how public the project is. Ask us!

1: Does the project idea fit within the framework?

To receive support from Leader Sjuhärad, your project idea must be in line with our strategy and fit within one of our three areas of focus presented below..

Don't forget to look at the selection criteria for the focus area you plan to apply for support in. You can fill out a self-assessment yourself to get an indication of how good the chances are that your application will be granted support.

Area of operation

Meeting places, activities and networks

Projects that involve, for example, new meeting places, skills development or collaboration.

Maximum aid amount: SEK 400,000.

Area of operation

Ecosystem services

Projects that are about promoting biodiversity or sustainably utilizing natural resources. For example, local cultivation, food production or small-scale agriculture and forestry.

Area of operation

Entrepreneurship and innovation

Projects that, for example, lead to new companies and jobs, or the development of circular business models.

Support level

How much can you apply for?

A leader project requires some administration. We therefore do not recommend that you apply less than SEK 100,000.

Support ceiling:

  • For projects within the focus area Meeting places, activities and networks The maximum support amount is SEK 400,000. You cannot apply for more than that in Leader support.
  • At project support for companies The maximum support amount is SEK 300,000. "Project support for companies" applies if the project mainly benefits one or a few companies.

2: Apply for a power of attorney and start the application

If the applicant for the project is an association, limited liability company or partnership, you will need a power of attorney to be able to make an application. You should send your application for a power of attorney to the address stated on the form.

Start writing the application

It takes a few days to receive the authorization. If you want to prepare your application, you can use our questionnaire. Email the completed document to your contact at the leader office and you will receive feedback. It is also a good idea to start a project budget quite early in the process, use the template that you can download here on the page.

Templates and forms

When you have come some way with the application, it is time to write an activity plan. We have collected this and other templates and forms that you may need on the page Forms and logos

3: Write your application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system

Once the power of attorney is in place, it is time to start the application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service.

Find the right e-service

Go into www.jordbruksverket.se and Log in to My Pages with Bank-ID. Select the organization you will represent and write your application. Please note that you should only select "Myself" if you are a company. If you don't see the organization you represent, the authorization hasn't yet been successful.

To make your application complete, you need to attach:

  • A budget based on an available template. Also attach quotes and other cost documents that verify the budget items.
  • A certificate of liquidity showing that you have sufficient finances to carry out the intervention, such as a bank statement, balance sheet or loan promise. This is needed because the support is only paid out once you have incurred the costs.

We will receive the application when you submit it.

When you press the "Review and submit" button, the application will be sent to us at the leader office.

4: Processing and decisions

Once the application has been received by us at the leader office, we will process it. We will give you feedback and let you know if you need to add or clarify anything. You can change your application even after it has been submitted.

Your application needs to be complete one month before one of Leader Sjuhärad's board meetings, see the calendar. When the board is about to make a decision on your application, you will be invited to present the project.

If the board decides to approve your application, the Swedish Board of Agriculture will formally approve the project. Getting a formal decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture often takes five to eight months, sometimes longer. If you choose to start the project before the Swedish Board of Agriculture has made its decision, you do so at your own risk.
