There are many actors in our area who can provide support in connection with projects and other initiatives. Here we list some of them.

Not all initiatives and ideas are suitable as leader projects, but there are more opportunities for support and financing. Here we list some of them. Please let us know about more! And you – this about links, they are updated every now and then. Please let us know if you find any that are broken.
Other financiers
The Inheritance Fund
Non-profit and non-profit organizations can apply for money from The Inheritance Fund. There are two different forms of support:
- Project support that involves developing or further developing a working method, meeting place and/or activity.
- Local support that involves renovating, extending or building a new building to start a new business.
To receive funding, the project must be directed at at least one of the following target groups:
- Children 0-11 years old.
- Young people 12-25 years old.
- Elderly over 65 years of age.
- People with disabilities regardless of age.

National Board of Housing, Building and Urban Development
Support for cultural venues
No later than 30 September each year, support can be applied for for certain non-governmental cultural venues. Decisions are made in February of the following year. Cultural venues can receive support for new construction and renovation, as well as for standard-raising repairs, accessibility measures and energy measures. Support can also be given for the replacement or addition of equipment.

Investment grants for public meeting rooms
In order to create good meeting places, you can apply for investment grants for public meeting facilities by December 1st of each year. Decisions are made in May of the following year. Investment grants can be given for new construction, renovation and purchase of public meeting facilities, as well as for standard-raising repairs, accessibility measures and energy measures.

Business development grant
No later than 31 August each year, you can apply for an activity development grant for measures to adapt a public meeting place to youth activities. It can also be given to stimulate youth activities in the cultural and leisure area in such a place. Decisions are made no later than December of the same year.

Gustaf VI Adolf's Fund for Swedish Culture
The Gustaf VI Adolf Fund for Swedish Culture provides support for humanistic research and cultural heritage preservation. The fund can, for example, contribute to the costs of printing finished manuscripts, or for the preservation and restoration of buildings and objects of cultural and historical value.
However, the fund does not finance salaries, travel, events, new construction or projects already completed.
ICA Foundation
The ICA Foundation's mission is to support projects, ideas and organizations that make a lasting difference in society with a focus on health, well-being, diversity, inclusion, environment and climate. Applicants can be non-profit associations or non-profit organizations that have been active for at least two years. On the ICA Foundation's website you can test whether your idea meets the foundation's criteria for applying for support.
Swedish Board of Agriculture EIP
Innovations in agriculture, horticulture and reindeer husbandry – European Innovation Partnership, EIP
Project support for developing a new product, a new method or a new process that is of great importance to the agricultural and horticultural industry. The aim of the support is to achieve increased competitiveness and sustainable production through innovation.

K-money via cultural youth
K-money is a regional cultural support for those between the ages of 13 and 30 who live in Västra Götaland. Every year there is a pot of 1.5 million kronor that is distributed from the beginning of January until it runs out. The money can be used for art exhibitions, book publications, concerts or other projects within the world of art.
Municipal support for rural development
Borås: Funds for developing places within the City of Borås
Borås City has allocated funds for local development within the municipality, which will primarily be given to activities and smaller purchases. The activity will develop a place that can be located anywhere in the municipality, in the city or in the countryside. Applicants can be associations and local cooperation groups.

Land: Development money for village teams
Development money for village associations is a grant that refers to special projects that a village association wants to carry out to develop its business or location. The grant is given to encourage involvement and activities that increase the well-being and attractiveness of residents and visitors in Mark.

Svenljunga: Village council money
Every year, Svenljunga Municipality allocates 200,000 SEK for village association money. The aim is to encourage local initiatives that contribute to local development in the municipality. The application must go through the village association and the maximum amount to be received is 20,000 SEK/initiative and year.

Tranemo: Beautification grant
Village associations, community associations and, in special cases, other community associations have the opportunity to apply for a beautification grant for their locality. The measure must be permanent and contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the locality. An initiative can be granted a maximum of SEK 100,000 in support.
The Arts Council
The Swedish Arts Council's grants are intended to support activities that work professionally with arts and culture in Sweden and internationally. They are aimed at organizations, groups, publishers and municipalities, for example.
From 2026, support will also be included as The Committee for Handicrafts Issues previously distributed. These project calls are aimed at associations, organizations, institutions, individual entrepreneurs and practitioners of crafts and handicrafts who want to carry out projects with the aim of reaching more people with crafts, developing new forms of work and exploring new ideas, and contributing to a diversity of crafts.
Länsförsäkringar Älvsborg
Länsförsäkringar Älvsborg sponsors youth sports and cultural events aimed at children and young people. The aim is to contribute to meaningful leisure time for children and young people. Sponsorship is only granted if the contribution reaches both girls and boys.
Associations can apply for sponsorship year-round, but applications are processed during two periods per year, October and May.
Västra Götaland County Administrative Board
Support to apply for rural development
Authorities, municipalities, county councils/regions, companies, associations and other organizations can apply for support from the County Administrative Board for various types of investments that develop rural areas. These include investments in sports and leisure facilities, recreation and tourism, collaborations for new jobs in rural areas, support for heritage farms and investments in commercial and public services.

Support to apply for nature conservation
It is possible to apply for support for local projects in nature conservation or water conservation. For example, through the Local Nature Conservation Initiative (LONA) and Local Water Conservation Projects (LOVA). It is also possible to apply for support for the restoration of pastures and hay meadows and for fencing against predators.

The Mats Paulsson Foundations
The Mats Paulsson Foundations provide support to projects that create value for people's health and better lives. Within the category Other grants Non-profit organizations, schools and — in some cases — municipalities and regions can apply for funding for projects in healthcare, social assistance, wellness, sports, education, culture and initiatives for children, young people and the elderly.
Mjöbäcks Sparbank Foundation for Development in the Trivselbygden
Mjöbäcks Sparbank collaborates with associations, clubs and other partners to support and develop community life. Contact Sparbanken for more information about what such collaboration can entail.
MUCF - Agency for Youth and Civil Society Affairs
MUCF distributes state grants and EU grants to small and large activities and projects that benefit Sweden's young people and Swedish civil society. On behalf of the government, MUCF distributes state grants in the form of organizational grants, project grants and operating grants. MUCF is also the national program office for Erasmus+ Youth and the European Solidarity Corps, which is the EU's main tool for implementing the common European youth policy.

OBOS Cheers
OBOS Jubel wants to give more children and young people meaningful leisure time and thus a good start in life. That is why they annually distribute 1 million to organizations and associations. The distribution takes place once in the fall and once in the spring.
The money will go towards starting or continuing to develop activities for children and young people. It should preferably be something physical and permanent. Like a skate ramp, equipment for a training room, basketball hoops or a new edge for the court.
RF-SISU Västra Götaland
RF-SISU Västra Götaland supports special sports district associations (SDF) and associations. Among other things, there is the opportunity to apply for grants and support in the form of facility support, integration support, scholarships/funds and financial support. Associations can also take advantage of general development funds for development work.
National Antiquities Board
The Swedish National Heritage Board awards various types of grants within the cultural heritage area. These include research and development, grants to non-profit organizations within the cultural environment area, and grants for cultural heritage work.
Skandia - Ideas for life
Do you have a good idea that is aimed at young people and promotes safety and health? Then you can apply for a scholarship from the Idéer för livet foundation. Skandia Idéer för livet provides support for, for example, materials, information, marketing and training of young leaders.

The Alingsås Savings Bank Foundation can promote social benefit in business, research, education, sports and culture. This can involve:

The Savings Bank Foundation of Sjuhärad
Every year, the Sjuhärad Savings Bank Foundation awards grants to research/education, business, culture and sports. Applicants can be associations/organizations located in the municipalities of Bollebygd, Mark, Svenljunga and the city of Borås. Grants can be applied for during specific application periods, when these occur they are continuously updated on the foundation's website.

Ulrica Savings Bank Fund
Through the Ulrica Savings Bank Fund, Ulricehamns Sparbank distributes grants to organizations, associations and private individuals in the Ulricehamns area. Grants can be granted in five different areas:

Stiftelsemedel.se is a non-profit organization that helps you find funding from foundations, municipalities and county councils free of charge. The register used is the county administrative boards' public register stiftelser.lst.se with an improved search function.

The Swedish Postcode Foundation distributes support to projects that promote positive social development or seek long-term solutions to global challenges. The Postcode Foundation receives and assesses project ideas continuously throughout the year. Applicants can be non-profit associations and public benefit foundations.

Neighborhood Initiative
The Neighborhood Initiative provides small and quick support for projects that contribute to vibrant, open and accessible local communities. Non-profit associations and public benefit foundations have the opportunity to apply for between SEK 20,000 and SEK 50,000 for local projects that, for example, contribute to community and increased well-being and health.

The Agency for Economic Growth
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Social Development works to promote the development of services in sparsely populated and rural areas through a range of different funding opportunities. Tore G Wärenstam Foundation
The Tore G. Wärenstam Foundation annually awards financial support to cultural projects in Sjuhärad. The ambition is to create good conditions for free cultural life to operate and develop. Private individuals or associations involved in cultural projects are welcome to apply. Applications are made during a special call period that is advertised on the website.
Västra Götaland Region
The Västra Götaland Region (VGR) distributes various types of support to projects, companies and organizations that want to participate and contribute to long-term sustainable development – economically, environmentally and socially – in Västra Götaland.
