About us

Leader Sjuhärad is a non-profit organization. We work with rural development in Sjuhärad's eight municipalities by granting project support based on the Leader method.

Our focus

Rural development

Leader is a method where business, non-profit and public parties work together to develop their place. The idea is that development of the place you live is best carried out by those of you who live and work there – by you, your association, local businesses and other organizations. You are also the ones who know what needs and challenges need to be met.

Through Leader, it is possible to seek support for development projects that contribute to the goals of the Leader area's strategy.

Sjuhärad is our area

Our strategy

Each leader area has a local development strategy that forms the basis for development in the area. Our area includes the municipalities of Bollebygd, Borås, Herrljunga, Mark, Svenljunga, Tranemo, Ulricehamn and Vårgårda. 

The strategy forms the framework for our work and governs how we can distribute Leader support. The strategy applies to the years 2023-2027 and has been developed in collaboration between the public, non-profit and private sectors.

Board of Directors

Our board consists of 15 members, evenly distributed between the nonprofit, private and public sectors. The board is responsible for ensuring that we work based on our development strategy and decides on the distribution of leader support.

Do you want to become a member?

As a member of the Leader Sjuhärad association, you have the right to vote at the annual general meeting and are also eligible to be elected to the board. A few times a year, you also receive a newsletter by email.

Stalpets historiska minigolfbanor

Projektet innebär ny inramning till minigolfbanan i form av nya skyltar och iordningställande av området. Satsningen ska leda till en ny attraktion för både de många turister som besöker Stalpet och för de som bor i Aneby kommun. Stalpets vattenfall är ett välbesökt turistmål och Stalpets Café har årligen runt 20 000 besökare.

The project will develop a digital tool that helps farmers plan, map, and manage agroforestry systems. By combining modern technology with regenerative agriculture, the project aims to make it easier to cultivate with greater biodiversity and increased resilience.

Valuable nature on Ornö

Lustehagen, on Ornö in Haninge municipality, was until the 1970s an area with valuable nature. After a lack of maintenance, particularly over the last 20 years, there is a significant need to restore and then sustainably manage Lustehagen through mowing and grazing.
