Are you placing here?

”"Do you fit in here?" is the project where Ulricehamn Municipality aims to contribute to a more inclusive society.

About the project

”Do you fit in here?” is a three-year project in Ulricehamn municipality that aims to promote inclusion through education and cultural activities. The goal is to reduce prejudice and promote the equal value and rights of all people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, age and class. The project will highlight norms as social constructs and raise awareness of how these can limit individuals and groups in society.

Why this project?

Despite laws against discrimination, it still happens every day. It can also be difficult to prove that you have been victimized. Norms and prejudices affect the way we live and interact with each other, which can lead to discriminatory behavior. The project therefore aims to raise awareness of people's vulnerability and marginalization by spreading knowledge about how norms and prejudices are formed and reinforced.

Meeting places and activities for everyone

The project is aimed at the general public in Ulricehamn and will offer a wide range of activities such as training, theatre performances, lectures, stage talks, exhibitions, dance performances and workshops. The aim of the activities is to increase understanding of different forms of discrimination and highlight harmful norms, especially those that affect young people through social media and destructive environments.

The project is being implemented in collaboration with several actors, including Sensus, NBV, ABF, Kulturgläntan, Textival, Oasen, Finnekumla dance and art scene, the Church of Sweden and the municipality's various activities. In addition to Culture and Leisure, these include the Labour Market Unit, SISU, Ungas Fritid, the Ulricehamn women's and girls' shelter, the Kulturskolan and the City Association/Growth Unit.

As soon as the activities start, you will be able to take part in the program.
