Project Pickleball

At Lenavallen in Östadkulle, something new is emerging. Here, football has long held a strong place, but now the association wants to broaden its offering and create a more open meeting place. Project Pickleball is therefore part of a larger initiative, where sports, community, and movement coexist to make the facility a living room for the entire district.

Östadkulle Sports Club aims to establish a pickleball court with the project – a racquet sport on the rise that combines tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Since the game is played at a slower pace, it is easy to get started and suitable for all ages. For this reason, the club sees the sport as a good addition to an open and accessible facility.

The project includes the construction of a court, purchase of equipment, and efforts for marketing. When the court is completed, there will be trial sessions, tournaments, and club championships. Additionally, collaboration with Lena School is planned, which already uses Lenavallen for outdoor days.

The project also builds on ideas from the local residents. Over 200 interactions on social media, along with feedback from school children and association members, have shaped the content. In this way, the engagement has been strong from the start, providing the project with grounding and support.

The pickleball court is also part of the whole Meeting Place Lenavallen. Outdoor gym, playground, and barbecue area are also planned – so that the facility becomes a natural gathering point for the entire district.

Project Pickleball at the meeting place Lenavallen is an inspiring initiative that promotes joy of movement, community, and accessibility for all ages. By creating an inclusive meeting place, the social cohesion of the district is strengthened, and opportunities for spontaneous sports are enhanced – an initiative that truly engages the local community.
