Our Strategy
Leader Sjuhärad seizes opportunities, transforms, and provides hope for the future! This is our vision.
With a sense for the rural areas of Sjuhärad
Vision 2023-2027
”Leader Sjuhärad seizes opportunities, transforms, and provides hope for the future”
Through courage, inclusion, and foresight, we create opportunities for sustainable rural areas from economic, social, and ecological perspectives.
We have two goals in sight
Goal 1
Inclusive and vibrant rural areas
Inclusive and vibrant rural areas mean that there is room for everyone, that networks and collaborations are stimulated, and that cultural and recreational activities contribute to creating an attractive Sjuhärad.
The goal also implies a community development where opportunities in the countryside are utilized, that there is a symbiosis between large and small enterprises, and that small-scale agriculture and forestry have a given place.
Creativity, digitalization, and innovation are used as tools to create varied housing opportunities, employment, and access to both public and commercial services.
We contribute to the following goals in Agenda 2030
Goal 2
Sustainable and circular rural development
This goal focuses on reducing climate impact and transitioning to a more sustainable society. We want to contribute to accelerating the transition to sustainable production and consumption patterns, as well as ensuring that rural development occurs in a way that preserves and promotes the ecosystems' capacity to deliver a variety of ecosystem services.
The goal can stimulate the development of sustainable goods and services, but also contribute to closing linear production and consumption patterns into circular ones. For example, through initiatives for reuse, sharing initiatives, increased recycling, and innovative product and packaging design.
We contribute to the following goals in Agenda 2030
What would goals be without a roadmap?
There are many ways to achieve a goal. We have selected three areas to focus on, which we call intervention areas. It is to projects within these areas that we allocate leader support during the years 2023-2027. Each project that is granted support is a piece of the puzzle needed for us to achieve our goals. To assess which projects contribute to our goal fulfillment, the board uses selection criteria.
Intervention area 1
Meeting places, activities and networks
Things happen when we meet! In this intervention area, support is allocated to projects that contribute to participation. This also includes initiatives that can strengthen the area's identity and attractiveness.
It can, for example, involve:
- development of new and existing meeting places.
- creating conditions for meaningful leisure time.
- capacity-building measures focusing on values, norms, and inclusive perspectives.
Intervention area 2
Ecosystem services
In this intervention area, projects should contribute to securing a variety of ecosystem services for future generations. This can, for example, occur by promoting biodiversity or sustainably utilizing nature's resources.
It can, for example, involve:
- local cultivation and food production.
- initiatives that benefit regulating ecosystem services (for example, pollination, climate regulation, and purification of air and water).
Intervention area 3
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Sjuhärad's entrepreneurial spirit is strong! In this area of intervention, projects focusing on local production, skills supply, and investments that contribute to growth, sustainability, and future confidence fit well.
It can, for example, involve:
- collaborative projects within and between industries and parties.
- development of circular business ideas and support for new entrepreneurs.
- development of new products and services.
