New physical meeting places
Meeting places create participation and community. This micro-support can be applied for to create new or adapt existing meeting places.
Closed for new applications
There is no longer any money left to distribute and new applications cannot therefore be accepted.
About the micro support
New physical meeting places is one of our micro grants. Micro grants mean less administration and faster decisions compared to applying for leader grants for a more extensive initiative.
What can you search for?
Micro-grants can be applied for to run projects that create new meeting places in the area. These can be completely new meeting places, but also adaptations of existing meeting places that allow new target groups to benefit from them. It can also involve the acquisition of equipment that increases the possibilities of use for a meeting room.
Who can apply?
Applicants can be associations operating in the Leader Sjuhärad geographical area. Other actors can also apply as long as the project is of public benefit to the Sjuhärad countryside.
When can you apply?
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis as long as there is money left to distribute. Decisions are made by the presidium at all presidium and board meetings – dates for these can be found in our calendar and the application needs to be fully completed 14 days before the relevant decision-making meeting.
Always contact us at the leader office before you start an application. We will listen to your idea and guide you so that the application is completed correctly.

Meeting point Ätrastrand cycle path
After the motocross show during the Svenljunga Super Motor Weekend 2024, the idea of building a cyclocross track in the Ätrastrand area was born. Together with Tranemo Cykelsällskap, Svenljunga Köping Handel och Service and the Entrepreneurs' Association, a plan was developed for a track where young people can develop their interest in cycling. Svenljunga Municipality provided land, Perssons Åkeri sponsored transport and Tranemo Cykelsällskap contributed working hours. Now the track is in place!

Lillsjön activity house
The association has conducted a workshop in postural therapy at Lillsjöns community center, a health-promoting activity for people over 65 in Nittorp. Postural therapy is a gentle form of exercise that improves posture and reduces pain, which suits the target group better than yoga.
The association has refreshed the premises and purchased a sound system, soundproof curtains and better lighting for the workshop.
Cultivate in the garden
Fritsla Folkets hus wants to become an even stronger meeting place where people can gather and share interests. To enable more activities and events, equipment such as a sound system, headsets, portable projector screen and hat racks were purchased for a more inviting environment. The project also included a cultivation workshop that combined theory, dialogue and coffee to inspire both new and experienced growers. The goal is to promote meetings beyond screens and consumption, where community and shared experiences are at the center.
Camp room
In this project, Sandareds tennis club arranged two rooms for overnight stays, thus allowing sports clubs to arrange overnight camps in the tennis hall. The central location near the sailing club, scout hut, bathing area and swimming pool makes the hall ideal for summer camps, training weekends and multi-day courses for coaches and leaders.
Bird feeding on Orraholmen
In the popular outdoor recreation area Orraholmen, just outside the Herrljunga settlement, the Herrljunga Nature Conservation Society has created a place for bird feeding. A large information sign now provides visitors with information about the feeding and the birds that can be observed there. The society also arranged a bird feeding day and participated in the national bird census Winter birds on the prowl. The goal of the project was to arouse interest in winter birds and convey information to people of all ages in a simple and educational way.

Barbecue area
Svenljunga Scout Corps has created an inviting barbecue area with benches for about 35 people, where members and their families can gather around the fire and experience community outdoors. Around the barbecue area, relief tables have been built for food preparations such as foil packages or bread baking.
The inauguration was spread over two days, where everyone who participated in the work, as well as the scouts and their families, were invited to an inauguration barbecue, a total of 50 people. The project aims to promote outdoor life and create a place for social gatherings.
About the project
A meeting place to build our society together
Vårgårda Hembygdsförening has created a new meeting place to strengthen and preserve local history. The project includes digital registration of historical objects with the system ”Sofie”, a station for caring for and repairing objects, and a ”shared history station” where residents can share memories and work with historical material. The goal is to create a long-term, inclusive place where both volunteers and professionals can preserve and document Vårgårda’s cultural heritage, which will become a permanent part of the association’s work.
Meeting place for more people among dahlia display garden
lowers by Linn is the company that wanted to contribute to the countryside and create a beautiful meeting place in the heart of Od, between the church and the book cafe Crea diem. And of course it did! The meeting place will consist of a display garden with dahlias, lilies and other plants to enjoy. A garden with room for all the senses! A place where visitors can smell, hear and taste – but above all, come to rest. The project included collaboration with, among others, a group of visually impaired people and the Swedish Dahlia Society.
The pavilion at the Ljurhalla Factory
Ljurhalla Fabriken is a non-profit organization that works within contemporary art, design and creative education with a strong focus on children and young people. In this project, they have created a creative outdoor meeting place by renovating a simple barn that was previously used for storing materials and machines. A pavilion is now bookable for everyone at no cost – perhaps for picnics, dinners or simple social gatherings.
Experience Töllsjö
Discover Töllsjö, which was carried out by Töllsjö local history association in collaboration with Bollebygd municipality, aimed to create conditions for more people to discover the community of Töllsjö and its surrounding nature and attractions. This has been done by marking hiking trails with varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. The culturally and historically interesting caves in the Sjögaredsbergen, which have great potential to become a tourist destination, have also been signposted to make them easier to find by visitors. In addition, information material has also been produced and an inauguration was held in connection with the well-attended spring market in Töllsjö.

Åråsparken – Blooming meeting place
The Årås mill community association has been working for a number of years to restore the basic structure of the manor park at Årås manor according to the ideals that applied in the mid-19th century. Through this project, they wanted to develop the park further – with the aim of broadening the visitor group and creating an open and welcoming place for recreation and socializing. The initiative included creating a natural playground for children, improving accessibility by resurfacing the walkways, creating information signs that bring the park's history to life, and creating a flowerbed at the entrance to the park.
Pump track in Bollekollen
If families with children are attracted to Bollekollen for skiing in the winter, now the association wants the same target group to feel welcome even during the snow-free part of the year. Bollekollen offers advanced cycling trails, but these are not suitable for the youngest cyclists. In this project, a pump track has therefore been built in the area with the help of volunteers and a rented excavator, something that was celebrated with an opening where the public was invited to try out the track.
Development of Lake Ballasjön's fishing and outdoor activities
Ballasjön is a popular carp fishing lake, well known throughout Europe. The shallow side of the lake has previously been difficult to access for a swim. The Fish Conservation Association has now fixed this by clearing and building a sandy beach.
As part of the project, they have also built a barbecue area with benches and laid out trellises to make more fishing spots accessible with good opportunities for nature camping nearby.
