Generation D – the check

Generation D – The Check is a micro-support for young people between the ages of 13 and 25 who want to realize their ideas.

About the micro support

Generation D – the check is one of our micro grants. Micro grants mean less administration and faster decisions compared to applying for leader grants for a more extensive initiative.

What can you search for?

Support can be sought for, for example, arranging events, activities or tournaments. It can also involve preparing different types of meeting places, or other things that benefit young people in the area.

Who can apply?

To apply, there must be at least two people aged 13-25.

When can you apply?

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis as long as there is money left to distribute. During the summer of 2026, the project group plans to visit Kinna, Bollebygd, Svenljunga and Borås with a pop-up tent where they offer activities, answer questions and encourage conversations about inclusion and identity. Game On at the library

Young people under the stars

After a well-received AM meeting in 2025, young people in Tånga Heds 4H club want to take the next step and develop the concept. Therefore, after this year's AM meeting, a film screening was offered during the evening. To create a good experience, they purchased a projector and screen and complemented it with a sound system. Unfortunately, not as many visitors came as hoped, but the group is taking new steps after the project period and is aiming for more opportunities.

The Bubble Underground

The guys Ante, Olle, Leo, and Viktor have a band and want more things to happen in Vårgårda! They applied for Checken to be able to offer young people an ”underground concert” at Bubblan, the youth center in the area. Not only that, in connection with the initiative, they also started an association – Vårgårdas Unga. The idea is for the association to organize various activities for young people throughout Sjuhärad! Technical equipment was purchased for the concert night and will now also benefit the association and the student council at Sundlergymnasiet.

Kick Off project WÅRGÅRDA CITY

Rochevel, German, Daniel and Mikaele are four young guys who have started an association in this project: Wårgårda City FF – an association with a focus on football! To make themselves heard and for the public to be able to find their newly started association, they organized a kick off. The event was very successful and attracted many people – it is also the case that the things that were purchased will be used by the association in the future, a good start, simply!

NGB [Never Going Back]

There is a strong community in Hedbo – but many young people lack activities. That's why some enterprising young people started Never Going Back, a digital meeting place where you can meet both online and IRL! Through live broadcast ”challenges” on Twitch and TikTok, such as FIFA tournaments and board games like Imposter and Mafia, they invite other young people to participate, watch and socialize. The aim? To create fun community and show that you never go back – you move forward together!

Horror for everyone

Halloween got extra exciting in 2025! A group of young people in Gäseneryttarna set out to make the annual Halloween walk even more magical – and scary! Here, children (and adults with a childlike spirit still in them) could get makeup on as a skeleton, witch or clown, borrow costumes and take photos at spooky decorated stations. Everything was free, and the inspiration came from Youtube tutorials and a hefty dose of creativity.

William and Emil love cars. In connection with Hyssna Day on September 6, they invited the public to a motorcycle meet on the green space in central Hyssna. There are many motorcycle enthusiasts in the area but previously no real motorcycle meet nearby. Therefore, they wanted to create a greater opportunity to meet and exchange knowledge within their interest. The day was very successful and far more people came than the group dared to count on. Really fun, and already planning for the next event!

Engine for young people by young people

The youth of Tånga Hed's 4H club have held a motorcycle meetup for young people around Vårgårda! Here, young people interested in motorcycles met for a day, they showed off their vehicles and competed for prizes in different categories. During the day, freshly grilled hamburgers were served, and it was a wonderful day of socializing for those who share the same interest.

The Tånga Hed youth group wanted to create a meeting place for young people interested in motoring, as there was a lack of such initiatives where they live. This meeting was the starting point for future events.

Handball – the sport with a twist

Trying something new is always a chance to learn – and that’s exactly what the project team behind ”Handball – The Sport with a Twist” has done. The idea was to create instructional videos about the sport, but editing challenges have meant that the films have not yet been published to the public. Despite this, the project has provided valuable insights into film production, teamwork and what it takes to run a project.

The best thing? The interest in filming and spreading handball lives on in the association! In the future, the group hopes to continue the work – clear proof that experience is sometimes the greatest gain.

Gabriel and Filip planned an activity in connection with the Herrljunga Festival. They applied for and were granted the Check to purchase VR games and offer visitors to the festival the opportunity to test the new form of gaming. Anyone was allowed to try it out and everyone could take part in the gaming on a large screen. Now, after the festival, the VR set belongs to FreeTime, Herrljunga's leisure centre. This creates the conditions for more theme nights and events to be held with the equipment.

The little shot

The youth section of the Tokarp equestrian association was granted the Checken to organize a free ”try-out Pay and Jump” competition for young riders. The goal was to create a fun and inclusive experience where everyone could participate – regardless of riding experience or financial situation. And it really worked!

The event was promoted via social media, and those who needed it could borrow a horse on site. There was also a lot of work behind it – with planning, fixing and painting before the competition day. The result? A day filled with community, joy and horsepower!

Movie night at the Gäseneryttarna

The youth board at Gäseneryttarna is a resourceful bunch! They want more young people to come to their riding club. That's why they applied for the check and organized a movie night for the public. 2 films were shown, one for younger visitors and one for those older than 13 years. To really get the right movie feeling, there was a lot of popcorn popping of course! The hope is that these movie nights will become a permanent feature in the clubhouse where young people can meet and have fun together.

Young man with dog in Mark municipality

Taking courses with your dog can be both expensive and ”only for adults”. In the association Hundskoj in Rydal, a group of young people were granted the Checken to arrange dog courses for others of the same age during the summer holidays. The courses were free, no experience was required, and it did not matter whether the four-legged friend was purebred or not. A total of 7 courses and a graduation were held and the hope is that the association will continue to offer activities for young people with dogs.

Ski cross on roller skis

On June 1, the new multi-track was inaugurated at Lassalyckan in Ulricehamn. After applying for and being granted the Check, a group of young people arranged ski cross on roller skis in connection with the event. Both the national ski team and the association's cross-country skiers as well as the public were present and many dared to test the course, which consisted of jumps and obstacles. For example, those who paid attention could see national team star Frida Karlsson take on the course on Expressen-TV. Now the young people hope that more people will become curious and want to join the association to go both cross-country skiing and roller skiing.

Clubroom 2023

Team Omega Fotskäl is Fotskäl's best (and only) youth club. They meet every week to play games and socialize. As part of this initiative, they have set up a new club room in Fotskäl's community center. Now they can offer new types of activities, including board games and LAN. A big advantage of the location of the new club room is that it has its own entrance and thus the opportunity to be seen without disturbing other activities.

A hen of a feather

In this project, the youth section of Tokarp's Equestrian Association built and furnished a chicken coop that has become a new home for a number of chickens – but also rabbits and guinea pigs. They have also put up signs with information about how to care for the animals and the idea is that children will be offered the opportunity to try their hand at caring for them. Through the project, the young people wanted to create a place where people can learn about animals other than horses, as well as to create an understanding of the origin of the foods found in many people's refrigerators.

Happy Fishing 2023

Fishing is Melwin, Sebastian and Kevin's thing – but it would be much more fun to be able to get out on the water than to stand on the shore. It would be even more fun if more people discovered the charm of fishing. For this project, they therefore bought a smaller boat and a simpler trailer. They built a winter-proof shelter for the boat and arranged a fishing day where they informed about how to borrow the boat. About forty people came to the fishing day and the prospects that the boat will be well used are good.

In addition, they were offered coffee and the opportunity to play a match against Mathias Översjö, a professional player and instructor. The goal was that it would be possible to play table tennis regularly, so it is fantastic that Svenljunga municipality is providing premises and support to start an association after the project period.
