Navås Gym

In broad collaboration with the local associations, Navåsens FK took the initiative for a project to build an outdoor gym at the association's facility in Björketorp. Within the framework of the project, the site for the gym was planned and prepared, and in the fall of 2022 the training stations were put in place. Most things went smoothly and eventually an inauguration could be arranged - an appreciated one with around 100 visitors. Since spring 2023, regular training has been arranged in the outdoor gym with the possibility of supervision at some point per week. 

The gym itself consists of five stations, thus enabling variety and breadth in training. There are signs in the gym with QR codes – if you scan these you will reach instructional videos on how each station is intended to be used. Convenient for those who are not used to it or are visiting the outdoor gym for the first time.

The hope with the project was to create an attractive place for both joint and individual training, both for the association's members and others who seek out Navåsen. The outdoor facility has existed since 1967 with a swimming area and running track. Over the years, the focus has been on cross-country running and skiing – but with milder winters and new generations interested in other forms of training, the outdoor gym is, according to the association, a welcome addition to the facility.

The board's decision justification

After the application was received and presented to the LAG, as well as an interview with the applicant, the scoring in the selection criteria has shown that the project is well aligned with the strategy. It is a project that is well-established in the local associations, and promotes a generational change.
