The water in the school and the School Stream

Lygnern's water council has been driving the concept of "Water in school" with a focus on a holistic approach to water and the environment. The Sportfiskarna association, for its part, has been working on the material "School stream" with a focus on practical measures to help the fish. In this project, the water council is collaborating with the Sportfiskarna association to develop educational material where the associations' respective expertise and knowledge are utilized.  

In the project, the water council and the Sportfiskarna will develop and conceptualize water pedagogy in a teacher's guide that is linked to the curriculum. This is being worked on in collaboration with schools in the area - which lays the foundation for a long-term and recurring element in the teaching. The aim is for students to learn about nature in a practical and educational way and thereby become more environmentally aware.

In addition to developing the teacher's guide, outdoor days will also be arranged with school classes where students will get to know the watercourses near the school and the life that lives there. They will also be able to carry out environmental improvement measures in the streams and teachers will be offered training so that they feel confident in how they can work further with the concept. The activities will be carried out in Borås, Bollebygd and Mark.

In order for the results of the project to be self-sustaining and long-term, a financing concept will also be developed within the framework of the project.
